Our Pastor
Brian Amison
Hi, I am Brian Amison. I was installed as pastor at Immanuel Lutheran June 29, 2014. I have been a minister of Lutheran Church-Canada since 1991.
I was pastor at St. John's Magrath and Faith Cardston from 1991 to 1995 and pastor at St. John's Magrath and St. Matthew Milk River from 1995 to 2014.
I graduated from the University of Alberta and received my theological degree from Concordia Lutheran Seminary, Edmonton. I have taken three units of Clinical Pastoral Education and as part of my duties at Magrath, served as chaplain at the Good Samaritan Garden Vista facility.
I thank God for the blessing of being able to serve as pastor at Immanuel. May God bless you all with the riches of His love in Christ Jesus.
Playschool Teacher
Aline Shannon
My name is Aline Shannon and I am the playschool teacher here at Immanuel Lutheran Church. I have graduated from Red Deer Polytechnic with a Diploma in Early Childhood Development in 2025. I have experience from my previous job as a day camp leader and from my volunteering at VBS over the years as a tent leader and music center leader . I have also led a full day child care program for the Alliance church and have been a part of a few youth groups these past few years.
Immanuel Lutheran Church has been my home for many years. I enjoy spending time with my church family. I am blessed when I sing for worship services on Sundays. I look forward to what the Lord will continue to unfold for the playschool at Immanuel this year. I am excited to meet all the wonderful families through this ministry.
Office Administrator
Lisa Waite
Hello! My name is Lisa Waite, and I am stepping into the Office Administrator position fall 2024. I was born and baptized in rural Saskatchewan. I was raised in a Catholic Church where I was an active alter server most of the years of my youth. I received a Christian Spirit Award in high school and have always been an active member of my community with various organizations.
As an adult I have worked various administrative positions such as Financial/Banking Officer, Media Officer, and Duty Control Officer with the RCACS out of Penhold. I met my husband Adam in 2010 and in 2013 we were married, after which I affirmed my faith and joined the parish with Immanuel Lutheran Evangelical Church in 2014. Since 2011 I have helped out the church in various roles such as a Sunday School Teacher, Pageant Director, and I have an active role on various church boards and the church council.
I am always busy with one crafting project or another, and always have something on my needles. I look forward to serving the church, it’s community and wake each day ready to see what the Lord has in store for us.
